Construction Projects

Heart Shaped Pond - Retaining Wall

Owner - Halifax Regional Municipality
Duration - 2 months

The heart shaped pond was built in the late 1700's by Prince Edward's grandson to commemorate the 27 years the Prince had spent in Halifax with Julie St. Laurent.

Oakfield - Backyard Hardscaping

With our experience in retaining wall construction, backyard hardscaping is something we do well.

Meteghan

Owner - Municipalite De Claire, Nova Scotia
Duration - 3 months

We completed a sewer extension project for the Municipality of Clare which included over 1200m of pipe, connecting 55 homes via directional drilling, a pumping station and aerial river crossing.

Alder Crescent

Owner - Halifax Regional Water Commission
Duration - 4 months

We completed a full street reconstruction while renewing the water, sanitary and deep storm system on Alder Crescent in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. The storm system was at times over 18' deep.

Lake Major Fishway Siphon

Owner - Halifax Regional Water Commission
Duration - 3 weeks

We were awarded a tender by the Halifax Regional Water Commission to install a fishway siphon at the Lake Major Dam in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This consisted of fusing HDPE pipe together, installing valves and meters to help fish bypass the dam.

Highway 103 - Precast Structure

The tunnel on the highway 103 was a design-build tender. We were selected by NS Dept. of Transportation based on price and design.

Trenchless Projects

Fredericton Gas Main

Owner – Enbridge Gas
Duration - 3 days

We were hired by Enbridge Gas to install an 8" yellow jacket steel gas main by horizontal directional drilling in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Irving Pipe Ram

Owner – Irving Oil

We were hired to ram two 18" steel casing pipes under Pleasant Street in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia to facilitate the Irving Oil Refinery expansion.

Shearwater Pipe Ram

Owner – CFB Shearwater

We completed the largest pipe ram to date in Nova Scotia at CFB Shearwater. This ram was 8' in diameter and we went under the CN rail tracks to facilitate a new storm water system.

Salmon River

Truro NS - Horizontal Directional Drill

It included to directionally drill across the river approximately 65 feet below high water table with a 20 foot difference in tide change (tidal bore) in just a couple hours. The job was completed on time and budget.

Bay of Fundy – Fiber Optic Project

Directional Drilling project for Bell to install two 4” HDPE conduits measuring over 400’ (122m) in length each, that stretched out into the Bay of Fundy. The terrain included a grade change of over 110’ (34m).

Although relatively close to one another, each proposed bore path presented with distinct challenges. However, this gave us the opportunity to showcase our versatility; using different drills to overcome the unique ground conditions of each bore.

We later pulled a new marine fiber optic cable through one of the conduits, which now replaces the existing buried cable that had become exposed due to coastal erosion. The second conduit will be utilized during a future expansion of the network.

Primus Line

Lockeport

Owner – Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal
Duration – 4 days

We installed 350 meters of 300 mm Primus Line® rehabilitation system liner in a 350 mm existing water main in Lockeport, Nova Scotia. This water main runs under the river with a series of bends. Primus Line is able to go through the bends due to its flexibility. We were successfully able to reline the host pipe without digging up the river.

Lockeport 2020

An Emergency Repair on an 18” Ductile iron pipe that was losing 60 gallons per minute. The pipe line to reline was 700 feet long, 20 feet below high tide, and thru 5 bends under Back Harbor in Lockeport, Nova Scotia.

Once the temporary water line was installed and the existing system turned off, we had the pipe line cleaned, camera inspected, and Primus line installed and tested in three days.

Truro 10” Water Main

A scheduled repair to an existing 10” water main across the Trans-Canada Highway that

was 610 feet long. The only high pressure water line that supplied a Water Tower. This Tower supplied water to the existing industrial park and community.

From the time we did the final cleaning of the pipe and camera inspection, we had the waterline back in service in 10 hours.

Keep the Ground above Intact

We have the largest fleet of trenchless equipment.
