Salmon River
Truro NS - Horizontal Directional Drill
It included to directionally drill across the river approximately 65 feet below high water table with a 20 foot difference in tide change (tidal bore) in just a couple hours. The job was completed on time and budget.
Bay of Fundy – Fiber Optic Project
Directional Drilling project for Bell to install two 4” HDPE conduits measuring over 400’ (122m) in length each, that stretched out into the Bay of Fundy. The terrain included a grade change of over 110’ (34m).
Although relatively close to one another, each proposed bore path presented with distinct challenges. However, this gave us the opportunity to showcase our versatility; using different drills to overcome the unique ground conditions of each bore.
We later pulled a new marine fiber optic cable through one of the conduits, which now replaces the existing buried cable that had become exposed due to coastal erosion. The second conduit will be utilized during a future expansion of the network.
Lockeport
Owner – Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal
Duration – 4 days
We installed 350 meters of 300 mm Primus Line® rehabilitation system liner in a 350 mm existing water main in Lockeport, Nova Scotia. This water main runs under the river with a series of bends. Primus Line is able to go through the bends due to its flexibility. We were successfully able to reline the host pipe without digging up the river.
Lockeport 2020
An Emergency Repair on an 18” Ductile iron pipe that was losing 60 gallons per minute. The pipe line to reline was 700 feet long, 20 feet below high tide, and thru 5 bends under Back Harbor in Lockeport, Nova Scotia.
Once the temporary water line was installed and the existing system turned off, we had the pipe line cleaned, camera inspected, and Primus line installed and tested in three days.
Truro 10” Water Main
A scheduled repair to an existing 10” water main across the Trans-Canada Highway that
was 610 feet long. The only high pressure water line that supplied a Water Tower. This Tower supplied water to the existing industrial park and community.
From the time we did the final cleaning of the pipe and camera inspection, we had the waterline back in service in 10 hours.
